The engineering wizards at Shimano, seeing they already reached mountain bike pedal perfection with the PD-M9000, simply added a platform to create the PD-M9020. You've got the same incredible toughness, mud-shedding ability, rigidity, and super-smooth rolling traits but with a platform body wrapped around the perimeter to provide more real estate for confidence and control when things get technical. These bad boys are still plenty light, however, as they only add 69 grams to tip the scales at an impressive 379 grams/pair. Yet again, Shimano's XTR sets the standard.
